Originally built along a trolley line, which was along Central Avenue to The Plaza and then down Mecklenburg Avenue to one of Charlotte’s most prestigious country clubs, the Mecklenburg Country Club. Now it is called the Charlotte Country Club and it will be hosting  the 2010 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship in Charlotte, NC from August 9-15, 2010.
